The Van Ness Parts Difference

Van Ness Engineering has a deep inventory of parts for many vintage marine engines, including pre WW-II and post WW-II variations of most common models, such as Chris-Craft, Graymarine, and Chrysler Marine, among others. If you are a do-it-yourself engine rebuilder, or are trying to locate parts for your preferred engine rebuilder, Van Ness likely has the parts you need.

New Parts

In applications where new parts are still available, Van Ness Engineering sells only the highest-quality components. There are many inferior parts on the market today. We know the difference and use and recommend only the best—the same parts we use in our own restoration shop. There are also many engine parts myths that have been passed down over the years. Don't put your engine at risk by using poorly engineered replacement parts. Call Van Ness Engineering. We're here to help you make the informed choice. This is where our experience as a rebuilder works to your advantage.

Used, Remanufactured Parts

Van Ness Engineering also offers remanufacturered engine parts for pieces that are not currently available as reproduction. Van Ness remanufactured parts are true to original blueprints and exact specifications, and are tested to original equipment standards. Components, such as starters and generators are disassembled, cleaned, inspected, and rebuilt using new bushings, windings, and so on. Inferior-quality rebuilt components replace only the pieces that fail. This is a key difference. When you buy a rebuilt starter for example, 90% of the unit may feature 50 years of wear and tear. A Van Ness remanufacturered starter, on the other hand, will perform like new.

Van Ness Engineering sells remanufactured, turnkey engine accessories such as carburetors, fuel pumps, starters, generators, water pumps, distributors, transmissions, motor mounts, exhaust elbows, and more.

Repair Kits

We also provide parts for engine components such as carburetor repair kits, fuel pump repair kits, distributor rebuild kits and ignition parts, gaskets and overhaul gasket sets, internal engine components (pistons, piston rings, engine bearings, valves, valve springs, valve guides, etc.) as well as engine rebuild kits.
